Carousel of 1v1 practices...pressure from the side/pressure from behind...10 minutes on each practice then swap over
Pressure from side
Server plays into attacker..attacker scores 1 goal for dribbling through the gate (replicating dribbling out of pressure) or 2 goals for passing into mini goal (replicating passing to a teammate out of pressure). Defender gets 2 goals if they can win possession and dribble over white line
Key Points
Starting body position - are you able to receive off shoulders?
Body position - are you able to receive in a position to play forwards?
Receiving skills - wheres the space - hows the defender approaching you...are you able to use their momentum against them?
Use of turns/acceleration-decceleration and outplaying 1v1 skills to beat defender
Pressure from behind
Server plays to attacker...attackers scores 1 goal for dribbling through either gate (replicating dribbling out of pressure) or 2 goals for scoring in mini goal (replicating passing to teammate and bypassing press). Defender gets 2 goals for winning possession and dribbling over white line.
Key Points
Are you able to lose marker with clever movement (go-to-show, show-to-go)..if so can you receive open and attack defender.
Checking/scanning shoulder and using arm to feel where pressure is and where space is
If not (likely)...use body to protect/hide/seperate ball from defender...
Individual escaping moves...using body to spin and roll defender
Emphasis on using defenders momentum against them

Progression - team races with forfeits
Part Two - Ball Protection - Part A (6 minutes)

Key Points
Check/scan shoulder - are you aware of where the space is / where the pressures coming from?

Reinforce technical detail from earlier practise
Decision making - protect/turn into space/pass to a teammate
Identyfing where the space is
Protecting/hiding the ball from opponent - use of body/individual outplaying skills/acceleration-decceleration skills and seperate ball from opponent
