Description :
> 20 yards long.
> 40 yards wide.
> attacker v defender, 1v1.
> ball starts with defenders.
> defender must pass ball over to attacker & look to close down quickly.
> attacker must look to take a postive first touch & get forward.
> attacker can dribble through any of the 2 gates at the side of the grid.
> defender must look to win the ball back, if successful & gets the ball then they can dribble through any of the gates.
> looking for the players to have that quick change in mentality to go from attacking to defending & same on the other side, can we quickly go from a defensive mindset to an attacking minset.
> ask the players to be creative.
Progression :
> player on the ball can now shout on a player from their line to come out & help them, now we look to create a 2v1 situation while we are on the ball.
> if the 1 player wins possession of the ball back then they can call out a player to make a 2v2.
Coaching Points :
> postive first touch to drive into open space.
> change of speed to acclerate away.
> look to use both feet & every part of feet.
> head up to see where space & defender are, head down so we know where ball is.
> decision making in regards to defender pace & positioning.
> if we cant got through one gate, where can we go next?

Description :
> middle square, 5x5.
> gates, 2 yards away from square.
> groups of 4, 1 dribbler, 3 defenders.
> player in middle must look to use ball mastery skills using in our warm up to try & get through 1 of the 4 gates.
> defenders around the outside can side shuffle from gate to gate to stop middle player dribbling through the gate.
> defenders cannot step into middle square, can only block gates by being there.
> dribbler must play with their head up to be aware of space, defenders & where the spare gate is, what can we do to trick defenders?
Progression :
> middle player can only use one foot but any part of that foot.
> look to make middle square smaller or move outside gates back some more.
> use a smaller soccer ball.
Coaching Points :
> on our toes when dribbling.
> move ball quickly.
> use both feet & every part of our feet.
> drop shoulders to trick defenders.
> body movement without touching ball can make defenders move.

Description :
> 30x30 area.
> 1 ball per player.
> Messi Inside/Outside - players look to move the ball with the inside of their foot while also dropping the opposite shoulder from the foot we are using, look to use the outside of the same foot to drive into the space. Exaggerate body movement to sell defender.
> Cryuff Turn - we are now looking to change direction quickly, similar to a drag back but players must look to use the inside of their foot instead of the sole, players must look to be controlled when foot makes contact with the ball so they can drag it rather than slapping the ball.
> Scissors - players must look to dribble with the ball close to them, looking for them to bring their foot (outside of ankle) around the ball, while dropping the same shoulder as the foot you use, look to use the outside of the opposite foot to take the ball into the space.
> Step Over - players again dribbling with the ball looking to keep the ball close to them, bring their foot (inside of ankle) around the ball & plant foot on other side of the ball, while doing this players must rotate body/hips in direction of where the ball is, use outside of same foot to push into the space.
> L Turn - ball starts infront of the player, using the bottom of their foot they must roll the ball backwards & behind the standing foot, using the inside of the moving foot to knock the ball to the side.
Coaching Points :
> close control.
> head up & down when dribbling.
> small touches when dribbling.
> bigger touch when driving into space.
> stay on our toes.
