Learning to play out from the back from goal kicks and eventually general play.
Shape and starting positions are important.
Can we get our FB's starting higher up the pitch and get them into the attacking third and over lapping to create opportunities or get into goal scoring positions

Set Up in a 2 4 3 1 formation to play out from the back.
This is all about getting used to the way we want to play out from the back from goal kicks and our starting position.
CB's to start 16 yards from the goal line on either side of the penalty area.
FB's to start 10 mtrs further up field on the sideline to create width.
CDM's to start in line with the edge of the penalty area arc and 5 mtrs out side the box.
RM and LM to start 5 mtrs in from the sideline and 5mtrs further up field from the FB's.
CAM to be 5m deeper than the RM/LM but central and the CF to start inside the centre circle.
GK to start in possession and play left and right so both sides are working at all times.
Once you make your pass you are to move to take the position of the player you have passed to.
All passes are to be diagonal - players are to be encouraged to make sure there are no straight or square passes.
Can the wide full backs look to overlap the RM / LM to receive the ball from the CAM or CF - if not fall back into their next position.

Instructions
Ball will always start with the GK.
All passes are to be diagonal - players are to be encouraged to make sure there are no straight or square passes.
If we play out through the left hand side can our RCB push into midfield as a 6 or 8 to become an option to receive the ball.
As the RCB or LCB (depending on situation) moves into the next line can our 6 or 8 push into a CAM role with the 10 pushing up as a second striker to give up more attacking outlets.
Can the team in BPO look to force the team in BP to play inside when in the attacking third and outside when in the middle and defensive thirds.
Can the team in BP adapt to the oppositions positioning and set up to continue to play out from the back.
Team in BP to look to score in either goal.
Coaches Cues,
Can we look to play quickly into midfield and get our 3 or 4 into the next line.
Can we play quick 2 touch football to work the opposition and drag them out of position.
Can we transition quickly from BPO>BP and catch the opposition unbalanced defensively.
Can we adapt our starting positions if the opposition limit our options to play out.
Players Cues
Can 3 or 4 push immediately after the ball has been played into the next line
