Field Set up

2 Bow nets

4 Pugg nets

Cones

Soccer balls

 

Arrival Activity - 10min - 4:1 work/Rest - Game Intentional Free Play 1v1 2 v 2 etc..

 As Players show they join a game, it may be 1 v1, 2 v1 2 v 2 etc..

Objective: to pass or dribble past opponents, create chances score Goals - Fun

Organization: set up two Fields 20x18 (adjust to players needs)

 Equipment  - Pug nets, balls, pinnies, cones

Move of the Week/Physical Literacy (10 mins)

Physical Literacy 3-4 min General movements

3 min ball contact warm-up

 Equipment Used: Balls, Cones

Jogging 30 sec: Jog in any direction.

Lateral Movement 30 sec: move in any direction to any object side to side without clicking your heels

Move backward 30 sec:  keep low, check your shoulders to see where you are going, and change direction.

One Foot Hops 30 sec: look to jump over as many objects as you can, switching feet (left/right)

Two Foot jumps 30 sec: big jumps over as many objects as you can

Clear the playing area: Dribble - 2min  Use one ball dribble for a min lots of touches on the ball left and right foot, inside and out, do a turn using different parts of the feet

 

The move of the Week - Cut Back Move

Together the players run forward with the ball, and every 2 or 3 touches, they make a cut back move where the players step over the ball with 1 foot and then cut back with the outside of the same foot. Ask the players to work with both feet.

Small Sided Game (35 mins)

Assess the players stage of Development, and look to group them when it comes to activities. Individual/groups

 

Set-Up

 Game: 35 min 5:1 work/rest ratio 

  • 10 players - 5 v 5 ( if 12  or U7 players  play 3v3 games with pug netsand no GK)
  •  balls
  • 5/6 bibs
  • 6 cones
  • 30 x 40 area

 

Core Learning Objective  Technical:  passing/receiving  -dribbling - shooting

Tactical: Create space (width & Depth) Create shape: diamond or triangle 

 

Variation: all players rotate positions, gk, defender, attacker

 

 *Don't stop the game coach over the top access the players abilities make your coaching points on breaks
