Combining through the Middle Channel
Focus:
Being comfortable on the ball to combine through the middle create and penetrate when an overload situation occurs.
Action:
GK / Coach plays pass into the game, play begins.
Blue team trying to build out of back and connect pass to our ST in the yellow zone
Red team trying to gain possession of the ball and quickly start a counter attack
Gray players are Neutrals - 2 on the outside and one in the middle of the playing grid
Play 10 balls, then rotate teams. Losing team has physical activity - coaches decision
Keys to Watch for:
Timing of arrival into open space to receive pass, 7:1 movements to receive the ball, double movements to lose your man, quick combination/ speed of play on the ball
Red Team: GW, NS, OK,CW, AO / Blue Team: AM, MK, HM, IW, BT / Neutral - ST: SC Neutral - CM: AA Neutrals - Wingers: SA, MH

Weak-side Winger Connecting with back line in defending 3rd
Action:
Coach plays ball into Red team to start the game. The objective is for the Blue team's weak side winger to drop back and connect with the back 3 when the strong side Back has to fire out to defend. The Red team tries play in the wide channels behind the Winger of the Blue team, and combine to play in behind the defending back line. When the Winger receives the ball behind the back line, they look to serve a ball into the box with two of the central Reds and weak side Winger attacking a the service, while the back line tries to defend.
If Blue defending team wins the ball, they try to get the ball to the Coach for a point
20 balls - Switch the attacking / defending teams.
Progression - have GK play goal kicks into play.
Keys to Watch for:
If Defensive Winger gets beat causing the OCB to have to fire out and pressure, the Weak Side Winger needs to connect with the RCB and become a RB, this will allow us to shift our Back Line to the ball side
