Set up:
Appropriate size pitch with a 8x8 box in the centre of pitch with cones scattered.
Orginization:
this is a 5v5 game with no keepers. The main theme is to get the players to play in wide areas and avoid the centre. If a player goes into the no go area he must stay there until ball goes dead.

SSG 3v2+3v3 (20 mins)
Set Up:
Appropriate size pitch for a 5v5/6v6 SSG, with a half way line, and two 3yrd channels down the full length of both sides. Goals and Balls.
Organization:
Team’s start 5v5 but you can use any number up to full size game. At the start of the game there is always a 3v2 with defenders numbers up. The defenders must seek to dribble or pass to a play in the channel. Once a player has the ball in the channel no one else can go in and he is un opposed until he either dribbles out or passes out. The idea is for the defender to dribble past half way. Once he is past half way we play a 3v3 in that half until ball is dead or a goal is scored. If the ball goes dead one player must retreat back to create a 3v2, and then the sequence starts over. If the defending team wins the ball back one attacker must retreat back and the game continues.
Progression
We progress this game by allowing a second attacker into the half which the wide player has gone into creating a 3v4 situation.
Coaching Points:
This game is a “playing out of the back” for beginner’s session, so coaching points relating to this topic. Loads of good technical and tactical points in this SSG, But getting the ball wide, and fast transitions are paramount.
