Pressing in pairs (10 mins)
Players split into pairs
Each pair will either have a ball to pass with, or a bib to hold onto together to form a defensive pair
Pairs with a ball are trying to pass back and forth as many times in a row as they can. Pairs holding a bib attempt to intercept or steal the ball from another pair. If the defending pair touches the ball with their foot while both players are holding the bib, they take over possession of the ball and the pair they stole the ball from takes their bib to become defenders
Focus
Communication and cooperation between pairs - "How can we make sure we are not pulling in two different directions?"
Closing Down Space
Intercepting ball by getting into the passing lanes
Progressions
Pairs in possession are now trying to play give and go's around a defensive pair to score a point
