Zig Zag intervals to develop a players ability to work in their anaerobic zone and develop their lactate threshold. This can be linked to recovery runs / supporting runs / a breakdown in play.

Screen 1 (20 mins)
- Can be set up using a full pitch or adapted depending on outcome of session
- Players to run hard - 8-10RPE in a zig zag until they pass the opposite pole on the other side of the pitch
- Players will have a recovery jog down the side of the pitch and start the next interval. The number of intervals is determined by the coach.
- The session can be adapted by changing the pace between poles / increasing recovery run to around 3/4 of the pitch (opposite way) / adding competition by having players start at opposite sides of the pitch and racing
- Aim - to develop anaerobic system - related to recovery runs / supporting runs
