Ball Manipulation with cones
Similar to our ball manipulation but this time with cones all over the pitch
Players are to work on different movements with the ball in between the cones but always with a set cone that they are moving towards (think little touches and why they would use them and big touches and why they would use them)
At each different color cone (try to have at least 3 colors) have them work through different moves at each color (ie red cone a fake take, blue cone a circle take and yellow cone a Maradona). After a few minutes, change the moves at the different cones. You can ask the players to give you the new move to try this round and see what creativity the players can bring to the session and get them to model it.
After about 8 minutes or so remove the restrictions of moves and provide them with you must go left at this color and right at this color and turn at this color. This will provide the players with the freedom to express themselves with whichever moves they liked best but still make them think that "I'm going to yellow, I must take my move to the right"
Progressions
Have certain players have to use only yellow or red cones so they have to really get their head up to find the next one of those colors
Have them only work a certain foot or part of foot if you feel like they are being too predictable

Ball Manipulation Waves
20 x 20 grid
Players are split into 4 colors
The players opposite each other will dribble at one another and go to the other side, then the other 2 groups will go. When your group isn't going you will work foundation, toe taps, sole laces or anything other tight footwork the coach would like to throw in.
Once the players get the hang of the moving across and dodging one another we move on to the progressions.
Progressions
A player starts in between 2 cones, when they go to the opposite side, they must move to a different grid (can't be in between the same 2 cones they started at so if you are in the middle, you must finish on one of the sides on the opposite side)
When the player gets to the middle of the grid, they must do a trick of their choice before moving to the other side
Have all 4 groups go at once and navigate the chaos

One on one scramble
Cones are set out around the playing surface as 1 yard goals (try and use different colors as it will help with a progression you can do)
One player is the attacker, the other the defender. Start your timer and go for 1 min. The attacker is trying to score in as many goals as they can. Once they score in a goal they cannot go through that same goal before going through another goal. If the defender wins the ball, they give the ball back to the attacker and play resumes. At the end of the minute, change roles and try to beat what your partner just scored on you.
Progression
If defender wins the ball they get to attack
If you score in a color you can't score in that same color until you have scored in each of the colors
You can go even harder and say that you must score in a certain color only
Use your creativity to do different types of progressions

Running with the ball at Mannequins
- Each player with a ball at their cone
- dribble right foot to the mannequin and perform a fake take, then do left side on coaches discretion
- same as above with circle take
- continue to fake fake take (be sure at this point to talk about distance to mannequin)
- circle circle take
- add in different combinations such as fake circle, step fake, Maradona etc.

1 on 1 in a square
- Line up defenders behind 1 cone with a ball each and attackers in front of them ready to receive the pass and attack.
- Defender passes to attacker
- Defender then makes a curved run to take away the goal and close the distance to the attacker
- Attacker attacks the goal and once the sequence is complete, they switch positions.

One on one 2 goals
Player 1 passes to player 2 and then closes them down
Player 2 attempts to score in either of the 2 goals
Can be used for dribbling, dragging or turning as your theme of the session.
Depending on the theme, encourage the attacker to use that skill in the session.
After each go, players switch sides

Ball Manipulation (15 mins)
Ball Manipulation
Set up a space (depends on the size of the group)
- Each player with a ball
- Grid spaced depending on numbers of players. Ensure the space forces players to play close enough to one another to ensure decision making while moving in the space.
- inside outside favorite foot/least favorite foot
- inside outside both feet
- sole outside both feet
- laces laces fake take
- laces laces circle take
- foundation
- toe taps
- sole laces
- inside outside roll
- ouside inside roll
- add in difference dribbling technique
- add in different turns
- add in different dragging
