Passing & Turning (10 mins)

A passes to B (player A follows pass and becomes the central player) Player B controls the ball, turns and plays pass to player C(and follows pass). Player C passes to Player A (and follows pass to become central player) Player A controls ball and passes to player D. (and then follows pass)

Drill continues as above.

Coaching points:

High tempo

Good passing into feet

Good 1st touch (on toes when receiving)

Check shoulders (in middle) when receiving

Passing & receiving using open body (10 mins)

As per the last exercise but this time we are asking the player in the middle to open his body to recieve a side on pass. It is important that the player receiving uses the foot to which he is going to pass, (in this case it would be the back foot or left)

Passing, Movement and Combination (10 mins)

In this drill we are asking players to combine to make a 1-2 before playing the next pass (combination play)

A passes to B (who has come away from marker (cone). B plays a wall pass back (and then joins back of line where A has come from) who has also moved off his Player (cone) to receive a pass from Player B. Player then playes pass to C who plays a wall pass back to A who plays back to C. C then plays pass to Player D, and the becomes the middle player

Center Back Training (20 mins)

2v2 Work on both Center Forward and Center Back training

Center forwards:

1) One always needs to be the "target" playing as high as possible and back to goal

2) the second one always needs to be within 10 yards of the target but back off the line

Forwards need to be able to play quickly together and makes 1-2 passes.

Durring this drill all other players

Center Backs:

1) mark in zone, 1 forward 1 drops back. Pressure the man with the ball and the one drops back and in the middle to cut off a through ball pass.

2) Center backs need to communicate with each other. Switching from Zone marking and Man marking depending on situation.

Forwards: Reinaldo, Silver, Christian Rios, Jonny, Ray, Chuy

Center Backs: Carlos Sosa, Pepe, David, Lalo
