3 v 1
RULE: defender can only defend up to the P-SPOT.
20 balls how many do you score? They have a time limit of 3 minutes.
Player on ball goes straight away (no pass to defender) 1 person joins attack from left hand queue and 1 from right side queue. As soon as ball is off pitch or in the goal the next 3 go.
1 defender defends the whole 3 minutes then switch over. Keep score out loud '1 out of 2' etc. Do this as many times as you like. Encourage an early pass and passing round the goalie.

4 v 3
Defence pass ball to any attacker and then play.
Work on how to get height from a flat situation.
Coach throw in second ball if team get an outcome( shot on target/goal/corner)
Have 2 teams and rotate players in. Then swap over attack and defence.

E.g., orange attack first 3v2, ball from their corner
If a goal is scored or the ball goes over the baseline, a 3rd blue player joins the two defenders and they now attack with a ball from their corner
If the blue defenders win the ball, they have to pass to their corner and then they attack as above. If the orange win the ball back before the ball goes back to the blue corner, they continue to attack.
Once blue are attacking (either from a goal, dead ball, or turnover and pass back to corner) two NEW orange players come in to defend and the three who were just attacking have to get off the pitch asap.
Blue attack as above, orange defend, same rules once its dead, new orange ball from the corner and one orange joins the attack, two new blues in. etc. etc.
You can play 1 or 2 sidelines/feet/fouls, but don't extend any one rep too long.
Go for 4-5 minutes, quick chat, then go again. Try to get 3 sets in.
Coaching points
- Attackers have to stretch the defenders - hard and definite leads to space creating width and height
- Attackers try to create two 2v1s
- Use the ball to space (earlier groups won't have practiced this but some will have - emphasise this point!)
- Be clinical when shooting
- Defenders try to condense the space
- Don't get beaten 1v1
- Play 3v3 with your GK
