The idea and focus is to get as many shots as possible, in the time available
12 players + 2 goalkeepers, with 3v3 in the middle while the others are outside for recovery and to collect balls. Teams plays 3v3 for 90 seconds - 120 seconds, with the aim to get as many shots off and possible and as many goals.
If a team scores a goal, they get to start with the ball again from their goalkeeper. If the goalkeeper saves the shot or it goes wide, it will then start with him. The player receiving ball from goalkeeper has first touch free, but must be behind the half way point.
After 90 - 120 seconds, and blues and reds swap with players on the outside - collecting all the balls before starting again
For academy - can change up the drill on different sessions. For example, instead of 12 attackers, have 6 attackers and 6 defenders, where the attackers will always start with the ball for that duration of 90-120 seconds - giving them repetition of practicing attacking and defenders reptitiion of defending.
