Exercise/Activity Description & Set Up:
Game-like activity- 4v4v4- identifying situations to press with balance 25-30 mins
Exercise/Activity Objectives:
Field has 3 zones. 2 30x20 Passing zones & 1 30x5 screen zone.
3 teams of 4 players. Black team and blue team start in passing zone and red team start in screen zone.
Black team attempt to make minimum of 2 passes in their passing zone, if they complete, they can transfer ball to opposite passing zone.
Red team are attempting to win ball back, can only send 3 players to pressure in a passing zone, with 1 player in screen zone attempting to intercept the switch of play. If red team steal the ball, they then transfer immediately to opposite passing zone, and then the black team become the defenders.
Team with most successful steals/recoveries wins

-Close down with speed (deny space)
-Correct body shape and technique from previous drill (delay/disrupt build up)
-Other defenders lock on to spare opponents (disrupt build up)
-Player in screen zone moves sideways to anticipate and intercept switch (cover & balance)
-COMMUNICATION- talk to team mates to instruct pressure/lock on/cover/screen
-Triggers? What are our moments to press hard?
-How can we use our body shape/team shape to set a trap?
