STATION 1
Breaking the Line 2 - 18 Minutes
Organization
- Quarter pitch with 10 yeard 'dead zone' in the middle
- 2 goals with GK in each - 14 players outfield with 4 players in each end zone and 6 players passing 3 balls in the middle to create traffic
Instructions
- 2 balls played out from the GK
- Attacking players pass to find space across the 'dead zone'
- Players show a burst of speed to break through the space and shoot on goal
- Player who has broken the line returns to their zone after shot
- As soon as the player breaks the line, GK plays another ball out from the back
- Rotate players in the middle every 4-5 minutes
Coaching Points
- Players scanning to find space
- Players explode through the gaps in the traffic and shoot on goal as soon as they are through the 'dead zone'

SSG - 18 Minutes - Interventions based on Breaking the Lines

- GK must play out from the back based on least amount of pressure

Breaking the Line to Shoot 1 (20 mins)
STATION 1
Breaking the Line 1 - 18 minutes
Organization
- Quarter pitch with 'dead zone' in the middle
- 2 Goals with GK in each - 14 players, 10 attackers and 4 defenders (2 in each end zone), 1 attacker in each end zone
Instructions
- Each player in the 'dead zone' is given a number 1-8
- Those players dribble and do skill moves until their number is called
- Once their number is called, they can pass or move into the end zone, using their supporting players to draw the defenders or pass and move, creating a 2v2 on goal
- When appropriate, they shoot on goal
- Rotate players every 4-5 minutes

- Scanning to be aware of defender's position
- Decision making to attack the goal or use their supporting player
