Activity 1- 2V2 with a recovering defender into a 3V2
Set up- 40x50 yard grid, 2 teams, 2 large goals.
Activity- Gk starts by playing the blue team out wide, the blue from the other side enters as well. The red defender on the opposite endline comes out to defend and a recovering white defender also comes in once the wide blue player takes their first touch. Essentially its a 2V1 until the recovering defender can work themselves in a good position to defend.
Once there is a shot or goal or ball goes out of bounds, the White gk plays a 2nd ball into the waiting defending on the enline (see #2), they come out on the dribble and play 3V2 with the players that just finished playing. Whites attempt to score in the blue goal. Once there is a goal scored or a ball goes out of bounds, all players exit and a new ball is played in again to play again.
Coaching Points- Movement to receive and creating angles of support, vision, quality first touch, communication, quality pass, recognizing the space to attack and create numbers up, quality of shot
