Exercise Objectives:
This exercise is excellent for maintaining a high tempo during short-distance sprint work.
Field Preparation
Area is approximately 20 x 20 yards, unlimited number of players.Place flags from 10 to 20 yards apart.
Coaching Pointers:
The team is divided into two groups. Position a group at opposite flag poles. Players stand5 yards from the flag pole. Sprint work is performed in the following sequence;
Player "A" sprints around the far flag pole, as soon as he turns the flag pole, player "B"chases player "A" and tries to "tag" him before he gets back to his own flag pole. Whenplayer "B" turn on the flag, player "C" chases him and tries to tag him before he reaches hisown flagpole. This sequence is repeated throughout the drill.
Work for 10 to 15 minutes.

1) 4 Minute Passing Practice followed by:
Dynamics - Lunges x 10, Side Lunges x10, Reach Down And In The Air x10, Quad Stretch (holdfor 2s then swing leg through) x5 Each Leg
2) 4 Minute Passing Practice followed by:
Dynamics - Leg Swings Straight as High As Possible x 10, Legs Swings Across The Body x 10,Open The Gate x10, Close The Gate x10, Hop Forward And Stick x 5 Each Leg, Hop To The SideAnd Stick x 5 Each Leg
Overview:
15 yards x 15 yards area with 10 players, two players at each corner, and two players in the middleof the area. Play the ball through to the other side at speed bouncing the ball of the players in themiddle. The passes have to be played one touch if possible to keep realistic quick play. When playgets to one end the ball is switched before going back across diagonally. Outside players pass andmove into the middle creating a tight combination between them to then play out.

Speed With Ball: Acceleration Ball Drill – Play ball from behind for player to accelerate onto and finish x 6 Reps (1:5) Work to Rep
6 players per group plus a goalkeeper
- Coach will feed the ball from behind the player who sprints and hits a first-time shot, then the player sprints back to start for the next pass
6 passes per rep

Technical: Multi Technique Pre Season with Ball - 20 - 30 Minutes
There are 3 groups of players all performing a different technique whilst interchanging betweengroups by running to the next group on the command. One group are passing and rotating withintheir grid, the second group has one working player performing multiple technique volley, pass,chest + volley. The remaining player is in the middle getting lots of touches and turning. On thecommand, the working/designated player then performs a run to the next group and carries theexercise on.
1 minute burst per station then change to the next station,players resting move into station 1 and players rotate across

Conditioning Games: 3 Minute Games - 5 v 5 + 5
3 Teams of 5 Players - 2 Playing & 1 Around The Outside As Bounce Players
Each team to play each other = 9 mins X 3 Rounds = 27 mins - 2 Mins Rest Between Rounds Round 1 – Max 3 Touch
Round 2 – Man v Man
Round 3 – Unlimited Touches
