Ball Retention and Possession Play
This session encourages players to retain possession and be comfortable on the ball under pressure. We want to promote the use of good passing angles, communication and waiting for the right opportunity to break out rather than forcing the ball forward or resorting to big kicks upfield

Passing through the 3rds
The aim of this game is to encourage players to try and retain possession while passing the ball through the thirds of the pitch. Defence to Midfield to Attack. The defending team must try and win the ball back and quick counter by scoring into the smaller goals.
The defending team must retreat to the base lines in each zone to give the offensive team time to build out.

Build From The Back (BFTB) - Pattern one.
We will practice our build out patterns and work on how we can transition from Goal Kicks and get the ball upfield. Focus is on taking space, inviting pressure and moving the ball quickly to wide areas and getting the ball in behind the back line.

Simple Rondo (15 mins)
Simple Rondo
For this Rondo players are expected to retain possession for as much as 60 seconds before changing the player in the middle. Time should be built up from 30 seconds if the intensity is too much. If the team loses the ball then either the player who has made a stray pass or miscontrolled goes into the middle
