Key Factors
Square or Circle space - Players to stay inside area at all times
Reference to driving a car and using traffic lights
Traffic light game -
1) Red = stop and Green = go
2) Amber = 10 toe taps on the ball and then on to green (go)
3) Motorway (what does a car do on a motorway?) = go really fast
4) School crossing (what do you do in the car near a school or near a school crossing?) = go really slow
Coaching Points -
Lots of small little touches
How quickly can they put their ball on their foot when we say STOP, if they can do this quickly then they are most likely taking smaller touches instead of bigger touches.
Talk about finding space in the area, 1 point to the player who is in the most space when we say STOP. This encourages the players to look up and find space available.
