Method: 3 Teams of 6 players
Blue and Black team begin with possession
Teams in possession must stay in their half
Teams in possession to switch the play after minimum 5 passes
Red team is chasing to win possession
3 press into opposition half - 3 sit in the middle and try intercept a lose pass
When ball is turned over team that loses possession become the defenders
Progression - Teams in possession can use outside square to receive pass and switch the play
Coaching Points: Strong press - high intensity
Communication
Patience - do not force a pass or a switch unless its on
Calm and composed in possession
T2D when ball is turned over - press aggressively to win back possession
T2A when ball is won - keep possession, look for a switch - dont force it
3 x 4 minutes - 1 minute rest in between - switch team in the middle if neccessary

Three teams, 6 Blues, 6 Yellows, 3 Reds (neutrals)
3 Red players play two touch and cannot be tackled but can be intercepted
4 corner players as seen in diagram above (2 Blue, 2 Yellow)
Corner players limited to two touch, encourage one touch
Supply of footballs ready, game to continually flow
Coaching Points :
Let the game flow freely, not too much stops, let the players make the decisions
Both teams to play with diamond shape, with red players playing in between as seen in diagram above – this creates a lot of angles in triangle and diamond shapes
Quality of pass – weight and accuracy
Body shape/First Touch/Back Foot
Communication is key
T2D – on losing possession, press aggressively to win back possession
T2A - look to keep possession, be patient
3 x 3 minute games with 30 seconds in between, rotate corner players during break

Method: 8v8 Game
8 Reds vs 8 Blues
Game starts with goalkeepers after play breaks down
Supply of footballs in each goal
Coaching Points:
Starting positions of Defenders – wide and high, open body shape, awareness and receive on back foot
Transition to defend if ball is lost, can they win it back as quickly as possible(Pressing as a unit)
2 x 7 minutes - 1 minute in between

Organization:
Line up all players on goal line. Begin with light jog to following touchline and back.
Method:
Introduce arm/leg movements alternating with light jog.
Finish with static stretching.
Aim to reduce heart rate back to resting rate and to stretch muscles to remove lactic acid build-up
Review the session - Encourage re-hydration and nutrition
