Context
The team we are playing in set up in a 1-5-diamond-1, that also rotates to a box 4 midfield.
We are in our usual 1-4-diamond-2 set-up.
Out of possession
From GK restarts, they go into a high block/ press high, leaving 3v3 at the back.
In the transition to defend stage, in the opponents build into create phase, they retreat into a mid block.

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Problem 1- #6 misplaced pass into blue #5. Reds getting into mid block. Compact between units
Solution 1- #11 drop down to receive, #10 playing between lines to receive
Solution 2- #9 drop down, for #7 to run in behind and #11 across blue #5
If players are tracked, midfield runners in behind
Solution 3- Double switch, pinning back 5, with #7 pinning red #3, for #2 to receive high and wide
Solution 4- 3 or 4 runners in behind

GK restart
Problem: From GK restarts, high press, forcing into wide channel (1 or 5)
- #9 stands on outside shoulder of blue #6, to try and force play into blue #5 & #2.
- #10 starting point slightly deeper, to stop pass into blue #4 but forcing play into blue #5 & #2.
- #2 high and touch tight to blue #3
- #3 deeper to tempt pass into blue #2
- 3v3 on the back line
Solution 1- Play into top line, exploiting the 3v3
At least two forward players always pinning the back line
#4 staying central and deep, to allow passing lanes into forward players
#2 dropping further down-
if #2 gets on it, #10 drops down to receive, with #9 and #11 split.
if red #3 jumps, #5 into - #7 (in to out run), -#9 (run into channel) to play into or #10 drops down to receive or #7 in behind.
Solution 2-
#2 push higher pinning red #3 back, #5 stepping higher and slightly wider to receive pass but #6 needs to see the feet of #5.
#7 rolls out into FB position
Solution 3-
CB plays to GK, who plays into #10. #9 & #11 high and split
