2nd Phase, ball mastery/technical work
Objective: To improve how and when we run with the ball.
Organization: As shown, start with pattern A. Player 1 starts with the ball and plays out wide to either side. The player on the outside dribbles up halfway, and plays the ball to the central player. The central player dribbles back to the beginning. Every player follows their pass. In pattern B, Player 1 starts with the ball and plays out wide to either side. That player now passes the ball down the sideline, and that player dribbles to the central cone before heading back to the start. Every player follows their pass..
Key words: Pass, open up, calling each others name.
Guided questions: 1.What can you do if you have the ball with time? 2.How do we help the player on the ball? 3.Why is it important to learn and call each others name?
Answers: 1.Look up, make a decision about what to do next with the ball. 2.By being alert and making good angles off the ball. 3.To improve the communication on the field.
