Skill Phase 1: 1 v 1 defending
Set up 10 x 10 squares working in groups of 3, 1 defender, 1 attacker 1 server. server players attacker and defender presses on first touch. 3 attempts and rotate.
1. attacker dribbles over the end line for 1 point, 3 points for stopping ball on line.
2. attacker stops ball on open corner for a 1 point, 3 points for defenders corner.
defender dribbles ball over a line for a point.
Coaching Points:

attack and speed and slow as you approach, big to small steps

steal on big touch, head down
cue: touching with arm - steal ball

Skill Phase 2:
4 v 2 Rondo
set up in area suitable to players and age.
4 attackers on one line each, cannot leave line vs 2 defenders free to move.
attackers must keep possession, if they make a split pass they get a point.
If defenders win ball or force ball out, they get a point and rotate.

Skill Phase 3:
River Game
set up area suitable to players and age, with middle channel. 3 teams, 2 attack with 1 defend.
Aim is for attackers to move ball from one box to other for a point, if defending team intercept the ball, they switch with team who misplaced pass and gain a point. Can start with no overhead pass. add time or pass restriction to increase tempo.
Progress:
defender can go and press ball in box

Phase of Play:
set up area related to players, age, and field position if possible.
Start with 1GK, defending unit vs 2 forwards and 4 midfielders who are based on outside with gates.
attacking midfielder passes into 2 forwards who look to score. forwards can use midfielders in gates to keep possession. defenders must win ball and play into 1 of gates to score.
Progress to function, 4 midfielders join in and coach serves. Add 6 + 8 for defending team. Defenders must dribble though top two gates for goal.

set up 4 areas relevent to players and age. Players dribble ball around any square in competitive environment. on command players do ball manipulations.
Add defender, all players dribble ball around and on "Ronaldo" defender must steal ball from other players and switch. On "Messi" players must stay in their box. If no defender in box, players play king of the ring.
