Field Map
Organization:
- Defensive third of the field and middle third of the field.
- Who: Goalkeeper, defenders (2,4,5,3), midfielders (6, 8, 10, 11, 7).
- When: Recovering possession in defensive third (throwins or goalkicks too). In throwins it's ok to play back to the open teammate if it's an option. When building out of the back.
- Why: To get more controlled possession playing through the thirds.
- What: Crisp and strong passing in the defensive third into the middle third.
- What ifs:
(1) Strong pressure from the opponent: go back to goalkeeper, or shield the ball, offer support
(2) Ensure good touches, open body and hips, get wide right away
(3) Last ditch defending we clear the ball.
