Every player has a ball at their feet, practice turning/1v1 techniques such as;
- Outside step over/fake shot to turn away with outside foot
- Inside step over to turn away with inside/outside foot
- Flip Flap
- Cruyff turn
- Ronaldo Chop
Coaching points:
- Good technique/motion crucial before adding in speed/tempo
- When performing a turning/1v1 technique, can the player use a burst of speed to get into space within the playing area
- Can players dummy/feignt their intended change of direction. It's not just about the feet
- Make area bigger/smaller to increase success/difficulty
- Are players aware of their surroundings? It's an unopposed drill but there are lots of obstacles to avoid still

Players pair up and have one ball between 2.
Place coned 'gates' inside the playing area and the in posession player objective is to dribble through as many gates as they can within a certain time limit (2 minutes max), defending player objective is to win the ball, roles reverse when this happens.
Coaching points:
- Challenge players to use turning/1v1 techniques previously practiced
- Challenge players in posession to dictate tempo, recognise how/when to use players around them as an obstruction for their defender
- Recognise space/easy areas on the pitch to achieve success

Competition Time!
Two players start off in the playing area while others wait on the outside. Coach plays the ball into the area to get the game started, the players inside have 30 seconds to score as many gates as possible. If the ball goes out of play you can either turn over possession and dribble in or end the turn. I prefer to end the turn.
Two highest scorers are captains for the end of training match.
Coaching points:
- Challenge players to use turning/1v1 techniques previously practiced
- First touch crucial
- High tempo/maximum effort is key to success
- Waiting players cheers on their team mate and keep score to keep everyone honest
