Ronaldo Chop Technique: Edgemont Clinics U10-U12

Organization:
Multiple grids as above. Grid approx 30x15. Cones as above. Pugg net in middle of the lane.
Instructions:
Players dribble at the pugg goal, preform the Ronaldo Chop technique, and go to the line in the opposite corner from where they started. All players with a ball.
Coaching Points:
* Large touch running with the ball
* Location of defender's recovery run
- Option 1: Cut in front of defender and use body to protect the ball
- Option 2: If defender is going to overshoot you with run, Ronaldo chop
* Use of defenders momentum against them
* Eyes up after every touch
Progressions:
1) SAQ game with balls for a 1v1 game (see previous activity) (B) Defenders score in opposite gate once ball is won.

Instructions:
Players dribble in the area after listening to coaches command. Coach will use a variety of touches and different dribbling techniques:
-Inside touches
-Outside touches
-Strong/weak foot touches
-Soll roll touches
-Laces touches
-Sole Roll/Step Over Review
-Introduce the inside cut technique
Coaching Points:
* Qaulity touches on the ball
* Eyes up after every touch to watch out for other players
* Short 'Messi' touches to keep the ball close, big 'Ronaldo' touches to push the ball into space to go faster
Progressions:
1) Knockout in the same area (players must control their ball while trying to knock other players balls out of the area with poke tackles
2) Split game (players must dribble through two players, and then take big touches to the edge of the area for a point
