Area: 30 x 30 outer grid (yellow cones shown), increase to 15 x 15 inner grids (red flat markers shown)
Players: 12- 16 (12 shown in three teams of 4)
Explanation: 4 (blue) v 2 (maroon) in the inner grid. There are two (maroon) support players between the inner and outer grids on the same team as the 2 (maroon) within the inner grid, addtional 4 (white) support players along lines of the outside grid. Play starts with the blue team within the inner grid, they try to retain possesion from the 2 maroons for 10 passes to score a point. If the two maroons within the inner grid win the ball or the ball moves out of the inner grid maroons can play out of the grid to their two maroon support team mates or the white support players on the outer grid lines who all try to keep the ball off the blue team for 10 passes to score a point of their team. Rotate roles of the white/maroon/blue teams.
Coaching Points: first touch away from pressure, with back foot, timing/weight/accuracy of passes.

Area: 30 x 50m plus 10 x 50 defenders zone (shaded), small goal on each corner of playing area and defender zone, three small goals offset along opposite end line (50m)
Players: 12-16 players, into two groups
Explanation: Three/Four defenders in the shaded defenders zone, they are free to move between defenders zone and playing area, noone else is able to enter defenders zone. Two even teams in the playing area one team play with the three/four defenders, the other team apposes. Play always starts with the defenders in the defenders zone aim is to combine with their team in the player area to score in any of the three small goals, goals only count if all defenders have transitioned out of the defender zone, if a defender remains in the defender zone when the goals is scored it does not count. Defenders can move back into the defenders zone at any point to allow a "reset" of play unapposed. If the apposing team wins the ball they try to score in either of the two corner goals within three passes. Change defenders and team supporting defenders at regular intervals
Coaching Cues; movement to creating space/passing lanes; knowing options before receiving the ball, first touch to create a passing opporunity; looking for forward passes; timing, weight and direction of passes; defenders position to allow reset when under pressure.
