SSG (10 mins)
SSG/ In Possession/ Switching play:
Organisation / Area Size:
70x50 Tapered off at one end.
There will be a 9v9 including 2 keppers.
Duration of the SSG will be 3x4 minutes with 1 min break. Balls will be in each goal and around pitch
How :
I the coach will continue to work with the blue team and looking at the way they move the ball to create overloads out wide. If the red team win the ball back now they are still looking to counter attack but now they can score in the big goal. Blue team are still trying to utilise an overload before scoring, trying to cause the red team a problem .
Explanation:
Red team are set up in a GK-4-2-1-1. If you was to look at a 11v11 they would be missing their wide players in a GK-4-2-3-1 formation.
Blue team are set up in a GK-2-4-2. If you was to look at a 11v11 they would be missing both full backs in a GK-4-4-2 formation.
If the blue team are in possession of the ball they must still try and create overloads before scoring. If the red team win the ball back they have to use the width of the pitch to counter attack and score by there will be a time limit of 7 seconds to score their goal. Also during SSG the blues are unable to press past the white line as this will allow the reds to play out, and keep the focus on the blues objective which is creating overloads.
How both teams can get goals:
How the blue team score:
1 goal if they just score.
2 goals if the ball goes wide and they score off it.
3 goals if they manage to create an overload and score from it.
If the red team score on the counter attack it is worth 3 goals, but every line broken will also be worth a goal. They have also got to score within 7 seconds.
