Double Rondo - Ball Retention (15 mins)

Ball Retention (20 Minutes)

Organization:

2 Teams in 2 areas.

20 x 20 per area.

Explanation:

-The team in possession will be in the same area meanwhile the defending team will press with 3 players and will have 3 players in their own area waiting for the ball.

-The team in possession will have to keep the possession as muchas they can to avoid the defending team get the ball.

-If the defending team get the ball, they will try to pass it into their own area.

-Once the ball is in their own area, they will travel there and the opponent will have to go with 3 players to press.

-It’s so important the capacity of the coach to feed the game constantly.

What do we look for?:

-This task aims to look for the change of mentality.

-If the team in possession lose the ball, we allow them to get it back and keep the possession once time.

-The organisation is the key to get it back straight away.

-If the defending team get the ball we gonna look for the "security pass". When we need this into the game? If we recover the ball into the middle we will need to open it up to clear the game. E.g: midfielder plays into wide areas to reorganise the game.

Rules:

-We can play in 2 touches, 3 touches..( it depends of the ball )

-If they get the objective too easy, after 4 passes one more player can come into the area to press too.

-We can count the number of passes.

-Blue team has 2 players defending in the small square and 4 players waiting for the defenders to get the ball.

-Once the blue team players get the ball in the small square (rondo), they will try to pass the ball to the players outside. Blue team will keep the ball till getting X number of passes vs red team trying to regain the possession.

If Red team gets the ball, they will try to play the ball back to small square right away.

Variation 1: If red team gets the ball, counter attack in mini nets.

Variation 2: 4 v 4 + 2 neutral, If the team who is defending gets the ball and make X number of passes, the teams will change their roll in the game right away.
