Session Objectives

When? - When the team has possession in the middle third.

Team Tactical Principles
1. Attack space
2. Pass or dribble forward at speed when possible or keep the ball.
3. Combine
4. Create a 2v1 or a 1v1.
5. Vary the way of running and try to get behind/between the defensive line(s) of the opponent

DIMENSIONS: L25xW25 yds.
DESCRIPTION:
2 grids with 4/5/6 players passing & moving in grids, each player given a # 1,2,3,4, etc.
Coach call out a #, both players attack the opposite grid, once across the middle line player passes to the grid attacking & continues to pass & move in that grid.
Alternate #'s being called every time.
Progression :
Go 1v1, 2v2 #'s being called, #1 v #1 opposing grid alternate grids starting with the ball to go 1v1, 2v2
COACHING POINTS:
- Attack space
- Go at speed / change of direction
- Combine / dribble

DESCRIPTION:
- Ball starts by getting played into the #7 or #11 by either line A or line B. 3v2 + GK going to goal.
Progression :
Once the reds cross the dotted line, the trailing defender adds in for a 3v3. If the blue's recover the ball they can go to the counter goals.
COACHING POINTS:
- Decision making: dribble or pass
- Movement of the #9 to take defender away
- Ability to provide width by #7 or #11
- Look to find Incision pass / dribble

DESCRIPTION:
- 4v3 in first zone + 1v2 in final zone.
- Red #8 Starts with the ball
- Rotate Blue defending players & Red attacking players
- Players look to connect 3 passes before looking to penetrate into final zone with a pass or dribble.
- 2 attackers join final zone + 1 defender for a 3v3.
- If blue win it in first zone, dribble past endline for 2 points, if they win it in final zone score in counter goals 5 secs to score
COACHING POINTS:
- Decision making: dribble or pass
- Movement of the #9 by reading cues of when to check in or away
- Ability to provide width by #7 or #11
- Runs to get into the box

DIMENSIONS:
The course is made up of six pairs of parallel cones, approximately 5-6 yards apart.
DESCRIPTION:
- Two players start at the same time from the first pair of cones, jog along the inside of the cones and do the various exercises on the way. After the last cone, they run back along the outside. On the way back, speed can be increased progressively as players warm up.
