Description.  

Technical Drill, Skill Drill & Small Sided Game

Session Duration: 1 Hour

Focus Areas

Consistency with accuracy during the Passing practice.

Apply the realistic scenarios to small sided game

 

 

Technical Drill- 15 minutes  

Players involved- 12 players

Area Size- 36x36

 

 

Equipment

1X Ball + multiple replacements

5X flat disk markers

 

 

Player A passes ball to Player B who opens out his body and plays a pass to player C D or E.

Player A becomes B and B joins end of the player he chooses to pass to line

Focus on body shape when recieving pass as well as communication on and off the ball

 

Adaptions  

Progressions  

2nd ball is introduced with 2 players working.

Communication and awareness are key in this drill to ensure the balls don't end up at the same stations if progressed .

 

 

Regressions

remove the movement and pass as a diamond

 

Challenges, conditions, or targets.

aim for a target number of passes before being misplaced and aim to improve each week

 

Interventions

 

Freeze- this can be used to stop the whole drill to show the players the right technique on not just to pass but to receive also.

Focus on the technique of pass as worked on in drill. This game-related skill practise takes the techniques worked on in the drill into a situation where pressure is applied.

Both teams playing a 2-4-1 to encourage the striker to hold the ball up and bring others into the game using the passing techniques worked on so far in the session. The game will be played out with the condition that once you are in your opposition's half you only have 2 touches on the ball, encouraging the players to move the ball fast to maintain possession using the various passing techniques explored in the session.

Bullseye- this can be used to get players out of the game which creates overloads, this also allows you to give that specific player key information relevant to themself and also set goals, challenges and show examples of the right technique needed to be used.
