Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
Defenders & GK defending the space and squeezing the line when the ball goes back, marking goal side, leaving the furthest man, talking and defenders body shape opened up so they can see both man and ball.
Crossing from deep, mid and byline, playing through the middle so defenders have to defend narrow and force the pass out wide.
Full back allow the cross so GK and CB’s have to defend the cross.
Regressions: When working on the Blue defending the final 3rd and balls coming in from wide areas I will give them reference points ie Near Post, Middle of the goal, Far post, also I would get the wide players to drive in with the ball rather than just cross the ball every time.
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
Both wide players can cross from either deep areas of the pitch or drive towards the byline for a cross, cutback or a shot at goal.
Defending full backs can not engage the wide player but can block the cross.
The Yellow team have to deliver from wide areas with the opposite wide player coming off his wing for the back post delivery. passes can also be played through the lines with the No 10 and wide players joining in.
If the Blue team win the ball they have 5 seconds to clip the ball into the big goal centrally or 8 seconds to pass the ball into the small goals.

9V9. Working with the yellows attacking with a formation of 4-3-1 against 2-4-2
Working with the yellows on defending the final 3rd, ball starts with yellow GK who plays the ball forward, free play with the blues working on getting the ball into wide areas and setting the ball back to the deeper wide players, GK must squeeze the yellows up when the ball is travelling. Yellows trigger to step up is when the ball goes back away from their goal.
Shaded area is for the full backs only so it encourages the ball to go wide and the GK’s & defenders to deal with crosses into the box.
