Tag Warm up (10 mins)

Tag game

2 teams and 2-3 chasers

small square in middle of pitch with square markes out (nest)

Tennis balls in nest, Blue and Reds have bibtails

Blue and Red team can send out two players at a time to steal tennis balls from the nest and get them back into there goal. Chasers try and prevent this by removing tail from players

Rotate chasers

Progressionuse football in middle and reds and blues have to steal football and get them back into goals

Technical practice (20 mins)

Technical passing and receiving practice

Groups of 3 as many as needed for numbers

1: Middle player receives ball from outside takes ball either out the left or right side of the square then plays back. (attempt this in 2 touches, one touch out one touch back) Then turn and recveive from other side

2: Player receives and turns using first touch without leaving square and plays out to other side

3: Outside player plays in for middle man who sets ball back for original man to play longer to opposite man, follow pass.

Focus on different ways to use first touch, 1st touch

1v1 skill practice (15 mins)

Passing Practice

Half players in side and half outside with ball

Players on inside in pairs, one defending

player 1 has to go and receive ball from otside player using 1st touch to get away from defender (passive)and then play back out to free outside man

Rotate roles of inside players and then swap inside and outside players

Fun 1st touch quick fire (10 mins)

Quick Fire first touch finishing game

Playeres in two to four teams with lots of balls as diagram

1st player runs out to cone and spins to face goal before receiving pass he has to finish first time in goal.

Players repeat, rapid quick fire.

Can make it competative by makig it a race, 1st team to get everyone through twice etc

End Game (15 mins)

SSG to end, two pitches as before. Numbers to suit can have overloaded teams or jokers depedning on age ability outcomes etc

In shaded zones must score using first time finishes

Use Player Cards, dice games, hangman, naughts and crosses, paper game to increase engagement levels with kids
