1v1 Possession
Two players per small grid. Players take turns keeping possession from the other player. The defender attempts to knock the ball out of the area, and the attacker attempts to keep the ball inside the area for as long as possible. After the attacker loses the ball, switch roles. The player that keeps the ball in the area longer wins the round. Rotate players each round.
Coaching Points:
- Shield the ball from the defender by putting your body between them and the ball
- Change direction and move the ball if the defender gains a positional advantage
- Keep the ball moving to make it more difficult for the defender to touch the ball
- Use the sole of the foot to have more power and control on the ball
- Value the ball and having possession
