The game now moves into the middle section of the pitch. Each team has one Target Man at opposite corners of the area. The aim is to get the ball from one Target Player to another successfully to score a goal. Again, if this is done in under 4 touches it counts as a treble goal.
The positioning of the Target Players is to help develop diagonal switch balls when possible. However, the Target Men are allowed to move 5 yards either side of their start cone.
(2) To progress, add a Centre Back to each team. These players are fixed in position and move along their area to support the play. They are allowed to be used to receive and switch play when needed. The Target Man can then either bounce the ball back into play or they rotate with the nearest player.
To challenge the defenders you could progress to allowing a midfielder to break out and press them or you could ask them to drive into midfield as often as possible, switching with the nearest man.

The GKs are now introduced to the practice and the game introduces an attack at goal.
As with the last practice, the aim is to move the ball quickly from one Target Man to another. Once the ball has been played between both Target Players without interception from the other team they are able to attack the goal and have 6 seconds to get a shot on goal. If they exceed this time they must retain possession and repeat the process. The red midfielders are allowed to recover to aid their defender.

The players now go into a game. The conditions of the game are that the ball must enter 2 zones before they can score. If they regain possession in the final third they have 4 seconds to score or they have to play the 2 zone condition.
Also, to encourage the players not to just play sideways without moving the ball forward they are challenged to receive the ball in a wide zone and move it on one third within 3 touches to get a bonus point. EG; The left back has received the ball and progresses into the midield section.
Finish with free play.

Intro Game
The players are split into 4 teams and play 3v3/4v4/4v4. The pitch has 3 channels and 3 thirds.
In this game we are encouraging the players to receive the ball facing forward as often as possible and looking for early opportunities to switch play, which in this instance is playing from back to front quickly.
Players cannot enter the final third until the ball is in there. If a goal is scored in 4 touches or less it counts as 3 goals instead of 1. This will encourage players to play the ball firmly and with accuracy when they feel the time is right to score a treble goal. If the pass is under hit the opponents can recover into the end zone once the ball is struck and would be able to recover in time.
This information has been given to the player as an example of setting up a counter attack by playing forward early to your striker (small goal).
