Organization:

Six players in a 12 x 12 yard grid.

Activity:

4 vs. 2 keepaway. Rotate defense with offense.

Coaching Points:

Player 1 is in possession. Players 2 and 3 give immediagte support left and right. Player 4 offers the penetrating split pass. As the ball shifts so do the roles of the four players in possession.

Organization:

8 players in a 40 x 25 yard area.

Activity:

4 vs. 4 to endzones. Score by passing or dribbling in to the endzone. Front of endzone denotes offside line.

Coaching Points:

-Player 1 cannot penetrate on the dribble----good decision to keep possession

-Player 2 offers good support, deep and at angle----spacing is good to stretch opponents

-Player 4 maintains length on the field to attract opponents----creates space

-Player 3 maintains width and attacks space on the dribble----ready to receive and penetrate

8 players in a 40 x 25 yard area plus two target players.

Activity:

Score by hitting target and receiving back before penetrating end zone. For players in the main area the front of end zone denotes off side line.

Coaching Points:

-Player 2 supports and sees target option to play penetrating pass

-Player 4 moves of the ball to unbalance opponents and play forward pass

-Player 3 attacks space off the ball from width

-Possession is kept, forward looking from Player 2 and good width and mobility from 1,3 and 4

Organization:

10 field players in a 50 x 35 yard area plus two GK.

Activity:

5 vs. 5. The object of the game is to knock the ball into the keeper in the air. If a goal is scored the GK serves back to the furtherest player away on the scoring team. If the ball is not caught on the fly the GK serves to the previously defending team.

Coaching Points:

-Circulate the ball to move the defenders and create a channel to the GK

-Head up in advance of receiving

Off the ball be ready to move and maintain width

-Depth in support from the next closest to the ball is important

-Always look to penetrate first

-Value possession
