Pressing From The Front - WPW
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Practice 1 - 9 players.
3 teams of 3.
Grid split into 4 Sections.
When in possession everyone from the team has to be in the same quarter. You have to make 4 passes in your team and then you can transfer it to someone from team 2 in the other 3 quarters. It has to travel through the box though.
Team 3 will be pressing. 2 players from the team can go into the quarter and press and the 3rd player acts as a sweeper in the middle box.
If the team pressing wins the ball they have to pass to the opposite team and then the team who lost the ball becomes the pressing team.
Progression - the ball doesnt have to go through the middle square.
Working on the angle of the press and the support from the deeper player.
Practice 2 - 8 Players
Pitch Split into 2 halves -
2 players can go into the opposition half and press, once they win it back they play it back into their team mates and the opposition press them.
Working on winning it back when outnumbered and also pressing as a unit.
