Set-Up:
10x10 square in the middle of a 30x30. The team in possession can have 1 player in the centre zone only but don't have to use the centre zone. Players keep possession, 5 passes for a point. Only the team in possession can be in the centre zone.
Progression

-A defender can enter the centre zone only when the ball is there
- The centre zone must be used to score a point.

Q - How do I decide who to cover? A - Stop the most dangerous pass.

Q - Why do we need to get back into shape before challenging for the ball?
A - To keep shape, if one person applies pressure without any comms or without winning the ball, it could leave gaps to be exploited. Positons first.
Rewards - if a goal is scored directly from an interception, it is worth 3 points.

Warm up, Hand Ball (15 mins)
Set-Up: 2 teams, 1 player from each team in each end zone. To score a point the ball must be played from one end zone to the other. The ball cannot be thrown above head height. The player who passed into the end zone replaces end zone player when they pass out.
Progression - the ball must be played through the centre square to score a point.
Coaching points/Questions
Defence
- Intercept the passing lines, check your shoulder move to positions to stop the forward pass.
- Organise a block, stay narrow, in shape.
Attack
- Short, fast movements to find space
- Move straight after the defender checks their shoulder
- Minimise time with the ball, receive and pass.
Q - Why minimise time on the ball? A - to give our opponents as little time as possible to regroup.
Q - How do intercept passing lines? A - constantly scan your surroundings particularly what is happening behind you, move in between the player in possession and the potential recipient.
