Area:

use half a pitch, width ways.

Equipment:

Cones/poles

Setup:

Use cones/poles to create 2 corridors approx 5m wide (can increase to accomodate more players). put cones on each end and the halfway line as shown.Split players into 3 groups. (eg 15 players split into 3 x 5 players).

Objective:

1st group stat by walking from start line to 1st cones half way. Thet then start to jog to the next cones.They turn and come down the next corridor where they increase the pace to a 1/2 pace run to the next cone then put in full sprint to the finish and then repeat. for the practice to flow, the next group start just before the group in front finish their walking section. 

Progession/Simplify:

To make this more chgallenging, make every 3rd circuit a full sprint down the second corroidor (removing the run section) then retuen to normal for the next 2 laps then sprint 2nd corridor again. increase duration or increase distance of sections.

Keypoints:

Encourage players to keep to the pace of each section as it is a interval style trainning with changes of intensity/changes of speed. going one speed for too long negates the bennifit of high intensity interval training.
