Organisaition

The ball will be played into the goalkeeper from the server. Upon the goalkeeper receiving the ball, the back 4 will transition from a flat setup to more of an attacking style, the CB's will split and go wide, looking to receive directly from the GK.

The 2 FB's will get as wide as possible and push higher up the field to create more lines. The deep lyer will drop in to receive the ball off the CB's and link up with the FB's.

Red team- Back 4 and defensive MF

Blue Team- Front 4 and a CM player.

Session Explanation

The objective for reds is simple, to score they can pass through either of the 3 gates into their teammates higher up the field, or they can score 2 points by dribbling through one of those gates. The defending team must try to stop the blues, they can put the ball out of play, or try to win it and go for goal.

Talk to the reds about drawing players in and playing around them, creating lines and shapes (triangles).

Talk about attacking principals:

- Movement to receive and support play

- Angles and distanes

- Body postion & first touch

- Quality of pass

- Width and depth

- Decision-making

-Triggers. Deep lyer drops as ball is travelling from G.K to CB. Ensure sharp movement. Looking over shoulder

SSG: 9v9

Red team setup in a 1-4-1-4-1 (but the RMF and LMF have dropped out to create a 1-4-1-2-1 or 4-3-1)

Blue team setup in a 1-4-4-2 (but the RFB and LFB have dropped out to create a 1-2-4-2)

Coaching the red team about build up play. I will also talk to the CM's about their role in this.

Session Explanation

I will condition the blue team to try and score within 8 seconds. This will allow the red team to regain the ball quickly and start playing from the GK once more.

I will also say only one of the CB from blue team can play over half way line. This will then create more space for reds to play out from the back.

When CB receive ball from GK they must play forward

- CBs on corners of 18yd box / FBs high and wide

- Frontman stretch opposition as long as possible

- DCM drop deep but not too early

- One CM pushes up to support FW

-Triggers.

CB- GK puts ball down

FB- If deep lyer is in safe posession bomb on. If not be aware of coming back

Deep lyer- drop into back line as ball is travelling from G.K to CB. Ensure sharp movement. Looking over shoulder. When received ball, Can they switch it to other CB or FB to start attack. If not keep ball, play back to GK maybe?

G.K- When ball is back 4 stay on 6 yard line. Ball played further up field come up with play. Always be ready and available

Playing out through CBs: CB travels with ball, DCM fills in

Playing out through FB: GKs ability to find FB, team-mates slide

G.K- when to pass to space and when to feet.

If DCM or FB's are tightly marked can CB play ball to AMF or longer pass to number 9's feet.Don't always have to play to feet.

Match Situation 9 v 9 (20 mins)

Organisation

Set up teams in a 1-2-1-3-1-1 formation and let them play.

1-G.K

2-CB's

1-DCM

3 MF's- Two wing backs and a Centre midfielder

1- AMF

1- CF

Can players still use the same principles of playing out from the back. The deep lyer dropping in and the two wide players playing as Wing backs in this session has there's no wide players. Have to provide width from G.K's ball. A lot of running for wide players.
