Footwork and Diving Activation (20 mins)

Footwork and Diving

First set

Keeper will do a series of different foot work through the yellow cones and then make sure to power step forward for a diving save alternating sides.

1st footwork: shuffle through

2nd footwork: 2 feet between each cone

3rd Footwork: Face right or left forward and back through the cones

Second Set is the same except a volley will be given once the keepers get through the yellow cones, it will be thrown back to the feeder who will then throw it either left or right in the air for a diving save.

Footwork, Agility, and Recovery

First set

Keeper will start by receiving a pass from the outside of the blue cones for a 1 touch pass back to the feeder. Then they will high step over blue cones, shuffle through yellow cones and get set for pass to feet which they will one touch back and prepare to dive.

Immediately after the feeder receives the ball back, they will play a shot on the ground to either the left or right. Once saved, keeper will get up for a quick shuffle and then a diving save in the air towards the opposite side of where they dove for the shot on the ground.

Second set: Is the same except change footwork through cones and instead of a pass back through the yellow cones it will be a volley, catch, and return.

Key takeaways: Clean footwork through cones, good handling decision making, after the first dive swing legs around to aid in recovery to 2nd dive, and diving technique.
