Kings Of the Castle
Organization:
20x20 grid with coned off corners
Two tall cones (castle) in each corner
8 players, each with ball
Instructions:
Players work in pairs and each pair has two castles
Players must dribble to another castle and then pass the ball and try to knock over the castle
If they knock over the castle, they get to steal treasure (pinnies placed behind the castle), and bring it back to their castles
Coaching Points:
Proper technique in passing (open the door)
Awareness - looking for castles
Progressions:
One player goes out and tries to knock down other castles while the other player can defend one of their castles
After one attemped pass, the player with the ball comes back and passes to his teammate and they switch roles

4 Corners (25 mins)
Organization:
20x20 grid
coned off corners - each given a different city/state name
4 players with soccer ball in middle
4 players in corner waiting to receive ball
Instructions:
Players in the middle dribble towards a country then play a pass to the player waiting.
He then dribbles out to a different country and plays a pass to that player.
Coaching Points:
Proper technique in passing and receiving (open the door)
Dribbling technique - spacial awareness
Receiving with a progressive touch - not stopping the ball

Flood Gates (15 mins)
Organization:
Four coned gates in open area
Players work in pairs with one ball per pair
Instructions:
Players pass the ball back and forth through the gate until coach yells the key word
Player with the ball then must dribble to one cone
Player without the ball must run to the other cone
Coaching Points:
Proper passing technique (open the door)
Proper receiving technique (open the door)
Don't stop the ball
Progressions:
Three coned gate
One player passes through one side and the other player has to pass through the other side of the gate
