Set up - 2 teams as shown (reds are attackers and black are defenders) Each team starts with 1 player on the pitch and attackers will go 2 v1 against the defender. Attacker who is first in line starts with the ball and plays a 1-2 with his team mate on the pitch to start the attack.
If the one defender wins the ball they try to quickly score inany of the two small side goals.
Variation – set a time to score in i.e. 15 seconds, competition to see which team can score the most goals.
Coaching Points:
Attacking – Decision making(pass or dribble), commit defender, angles and support from 2ndattacker, disguise
Defending – deny space –close gap on first attacker, delay – don’t over commit, try and create a 1v1, get close enough so that attackers head is down

Set up - 2 teams of 4v4 and 3 zones set up using flat markers. Each team has a gk plus a defender, midfielder and attacker in the respective zones
Teams take it in turn to attack with the ball starting at their goalkeeper who must play the ball out to a team mate. Idea is to work the ball forward through the zones (i.e it can't be passed through more than 1 at a time)

Ball starts with one of the attackers on the inside. Goal is to play a pass to each of the players on the outside
Attackers in the middle start with the ball. Goal is for the inside attackers to make a pass to all of the outside players without losing possession
Outside players can play the ball round the outside of the square to open up receiving opportunities for the inside players
Middle attackers must be on their toes, active in looking to get off their marker to receive the ball
Defender's role is to try to win the ball off the attackers (not mark the outside players).
Once the attackers succeed (or defenders win the ball) switch their roles. After the second round switch the players in the middle with 2 on the outside
Any additional players can be added to the outside either taking it in turns on one of the corners or adding extra points round the square

4v4+1 (20 mins)
Set up 3 pitches, teams of 4
Start off with small sided games 4v4 and where there is an uneven number add +1 floater who plays on the team with the ball to create overloads (alternatively coach helps team of 4)
Condition - goals can only be scored from a cut back (forcing players to be aware of their team mates and their movements)
Rotate teams every 5-6 minutes or so for a total of 3 matches. Team A remains static, all other teams rotate clockwise
