General - Switching Play (15 mins)

Organisation:

• 40m x 40m pitch with 3 goals at each end; red Cones (lines) to denote zones
• 4 Teams, 4 players each; Each game 2 mins long, 2 Teams rest
• Each team plays twice (4 mins) then off for 2 games (4 mins)
• Progression : Winning team stays on

(A) Aim:

• Understand when and how to switch the play - long pass direct or via middle area

(B) Behaviour:

• Move the ball quickly
• Accuracy of long or short passes
• Create attacking opportunities in wide areas

(C) Condition:

• 4 Blue (Attacking) players must keep 1 man in each of the wide areas at all times; Red (Defending) can go in any zone
• Blue scores 3 points in wide goals; 1 point in centre goal; 6 points if enter BOTH wide areas before scoring
• Red score via a counter attack in any goal (2 points)
  

(D) Distribution:

• Coach plays to any Blue attacker to commence the play
