Football/Soccer Session (Beginner): Finishing (Younger Players)

Soccer Bowling (20 mins)

Equipment Needed:

Cones 

Soccer Balls

Set-Up: 

• Set soccer ball on top of 6 cones as shown (can use more depending on the number of soccer balls available)
• Gate  (adjust distance depending on players)
• Ball for each group

Organization: 

• Using proper passing technique first player in line tries to knock down as many cones as possible. 
• Player 2 picks up the knocked-down balls and moves them to the side. 
• Player 2 sends the ball back to their passing line and then joins the back of the line
• Player 1 takes the job of Player 2
• Make a competition between the teams 
  • The first team to knock all the cones down wins
  • Have to win 3-4 games (etc)

Challenge

Equipment needed

• Large Goal
• Soccer balls
• Cones

Set-Up

• Break players into 2 teams
• Coach plays two soccer balls to the first player in line.  One long/One short
• Player has one touch to shoot (can be 2 touches if that is better for the level of players)
• Player must score one ball to stay in the game
• If player misses both shots they are out and go behind the goal.  If they can catch a shot they are allowed back into the game
• Game goes until there is only one team left standing

Challenge:

• If a player makes both shots they can either bring back a teammate that is out or they can challenge any player from the other team
• The player that was challenged must make both shots to stay in the game otherwise they are out
• If they make both shots, the player that challenged them is out
