Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): U9G COMO - 1st Defender - Speed and Angle of Approach (S26W3TH)
Description
Players will improve their ability to apply fast, controlled pressure with the correct angle of approach as the first defender in all areas of the field, primarily the middle third when the attacker is advancing with the ball so they can deny forward space, force predictable behavior, and control the direction of play ().
.
By The End Of The Session Players Will Be Able To
- Close down the attacker quickly with control
- Use angle of approach to force play in a chosen direction
- Maintain proper defensive body shape while containing
- Recognize when to delay vs step in
- Influence attacker decisions (wide, backward, predictable)
