Passing Practice 1
10m or more apart = Receive the ball facing forward and then dribble left or right - around the outside of the cone and then pass to partner who is in the middle of their cones.
Looking at consistency of passing & make a competition = can you pass it so hard it goes pass your partner.
Technical- ball receipt position and head up, passing- push pass only
Progression- Practice 2
Move the cones further apart- once round the cone- carry on dribble and pass the ball.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Hockey images.
Space invaders
4 players on the outside have to try and get the ball to each other- the 2 in the middle have to try and stop the ball. (you can have 1 or 2 people in the middle) The players in the middle can only move sideways. The 4 players on the outside can pass side and side to each other, score by passing to the other side- however will loose points if intercepted.
Progression - if the player in the middle gets the ball they can do A) 2 v 1, where their team mate in the middle joins them, and they trying and get pass the person who did the pass they intercepted. That person cant move off their line- only side ways B) create a 1 v 1 where the player who intercepted it, then tries to take the ball round the player who did the pass they intercepted.
Psy- Attacking- Decision Making- when to pass across and when to not Defending- Grit and to not give up on intercepting/Decision Making- reading the game What are the clues

Kabaddi
4 players in each area- they have to do 5 passes and then a player from the other side come in and is a defender. Every 5 pass a new defender comes in- objective to get all the other team into their side, and keep the ball. players can move around anywhere in their own side- this should be encouraged.
If the defender gets the ball then it goes into their side, and then it starts again.
Psy- Decision making- who to pass to- where is the defender.
This practice puts lets pressure on the attacking team- so more focus on time to make the decision.
Warm Up
Warm up- Roller Ball
8m apart for set up and use a tennis ball.
Players in 2's have to roll the ball through gates to a team mate.
