Start with 2 balls, progress to 4 balls. Change direction to work on both feet.
Teaching Points:
- Set back in 1 touch if possible
- Receive ball on back foot.
- Guide ball into direction of pass.
- Soft ankle to receive.
- Punch pass
- Check shoulder prior to receive.
- Aim to pass in space between manequin and cone, to allow passer to step into pass.
- Pass with nearest foot, nearest part (front foot?).
Focus on fine detail of the receive, concentrations on techniques.

Multi-station working on varying finishing techniques. GK cant enter area around Goal (red cones) but can close down player.
Station 1&2 - Finishing vs GK
- Challenge players to beat GK 1v1 or attempt to chip GK
Station 3&4 - Finish in Target Goals
- pass into red player, set back, decision to take on or chip cones?
- Practice techniques of chipping or beating 1v1

2v2 Directional Attacking & Finishing Game
Ball is played out from GK to Def, their aim is to succesfully play ball into Att who look to score quickly.
If Def win ball counter attack quickly.
GK cant be tackled, used for play rounds.
When ball goes into Attacking half, encourage attackers can only play on 1 touch (dependent on age group make rule).
Challenges / Teaching Points:
- Counter Attack
- Play rounds
- Start again opportunities
- Body shape to receive/ play in 1 touch.
- Quick play in the 'box'
- Clever combinations / passes by attackers
- Variation of finishing techniques
- Movement to receive
Defensively
- Close down quick
- Use GK to play out
- play forward if possible
- Get blocks on ball
