Set Up:
Diamond passing drill - go both ways
pass left ,move right. reverse
then move into 4v2 / 4v1 (based on ability)
Aim:
For players to pass the ball either around the opposition or through
Coaching Points:
Technical:Weight of pass. Focussing target.Inside the foot/ firm ankle.Getting the ball out of your feet once recieved.
Tactical: Can I play through or around oposition
Social: Communication from the outside so the player on the ball knows the options.
Mental: Can I switch it quickly? Where can I pass to make sure the ball isn't lost? Distance determines weight of pass

Square passing
Principles: (1) passing & rcving technique (2) Switching play (3) Maintaining possession
Set Up: Half the group around the outside. Half in the middle with the ball. Receive play back. Progress into switchin the play. Must travel through the middle square each time.
Aim:Players focussing on switching the ball early and quickly. All players taking responsibility for communication. To try and move the ball as quickly and as accurately as possible from one side of the field to the other.

Description 4v4/ 5v5 with 2 target players at opposite end.
Aim is to score by passing to the target player. If a team scores at one end they musy score at the other end.

Warm-Up: Ball Mastery (10 mins)
Objective: to activate the players mentally and phsyically.
Organization: each player with a ball inside a grid.
Instructions: players dribble in the grid and execute different moves communicated by the coach. For example: Inside outside. boxes. toe taps.
Freeze when pinnie is held up.
Can slow things down with some dynamic stretches- lunges, quads, etc
Variations: (1) send in defenders to try and take the ball away. If your ball is taken away you have to go get the ball away from someone else.
Key Coaching Points:
1. Good dribbling technique
2. Awareness of what's around.
3. Eyes up.
4. Close control.
