ASA 2009 Pre Academy Session
Week 12
Finalization/Creating Scoring Opportunities
Number of players: 16

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization/Directions:
3 groups of 4 players plus 2 neutrals (1 extra neutral to rotate)
4v4 plus 2 neutrals (wingbacks)
Team in possession looks to break the lines through a ball into space. Then players make runs into their designated finishing zones.
Team out of possession is not allowed to recover yet. If team out of possession wins the ball, they can play to the 3rd team (green). Blue team would automatically become the defending team vs the green team.
Rule:
When tranisition happens, incomming attacking team must play to both neutrals before moving forward (this willl allow defensive organization)
Coaching Points:
1) 1st attacker: Lines of pass. (foot vs space)
2) 1st attacker: If unable to penetrate, circulate the ball (find 2v1 on weak side)
3) Wingbacks: win back of defender.
4) Wingbacks: Red cone - strong negative pass into box. Blue cone - long ball service.
Progression: 2 opponents are allowed to recover and disrupt finalization.
