Warmup
2 lines equally divided up
Majority of the warm is going to the first four red cones back
Each will be repeated twice
1. Fast feet through 2. Two feet in each 3. Up two back one 4. Jump to singe leg hold 5. Going shoulder to shoulder with your partner for single leg hold 6. 3/4 pace to the end of the four cones and quickly decelerate 7. Sprint to the last red cone and quickly stop
Coaching Points:
Aim is when you get to the end of the cones to quickly stop with the focus of deceleration
For the jump holds it is important to get height on your jump and a good hold
Important to really lift the intensity with the last few runs as it is a build up to our 11v11

Method:
11v11, the day before the game
We will play 2x12 minutes of 11v11 and during this we will also talk about set pieces and talk about how we want to play as we are a newly promoted team there is a few things we need to discuss with competition level being higher
We will play or from our goalkeeper, their goalkeeper, do corners and free kicks
Each player will get invites in this game and no player will play more than 60mins
Coaching Points:
Our formation is going to be a 14231 against the blue team who will set up in a 1433
Starting off with our goal kicks, we will look to get the two CBs in the box and play from there and if under pressure play a longer pass and don’t get ourselves in trouble
Our two holding midfield players are going to be key in this formation to start attacks and also break them up
We will begin to engage the opposition at the top of their centre circle, if one goes to press we all go
Our strength is our speed up top and we will look to utilise that and catch the opponent on the break with early balls in behind them
